As a Compensation & Benefits Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping our international compensation and benefits programs. You ensure that our employees worldwide benefit from packages that are not only attractive but also fully compliant with the latest laws and regulations. Whether it's lease cars, pensions, employee insurances, or other compensation elements, you keep a close eye on everything. Additionally, you are a valuable sparring partner for various stakeholders within the organization, always finding the right balance between employee needs and financial responsibility.

In this position, you are the driving force behind the implementation of our international compensation and benefits policy. You work closely with teams in Germany, Denmark, Belgium, and potentially other countries in the future. With your expertise, you support important projects, such as the harmonization of employment conditions across Europe. Your role is versatile and dynamic; you are not only focused on compliance with regulations but also on creating value for our employees and the company. As a sparring partner, you are ready to support internal stakeholders and actively contribute to developing innovative solutions that align with our international ambitions.
You are responsible for:
- Implementation of compensation programs: You manage and implement our compensation programs, from salaries and bonuses to lease cars. You ensure that everything is not only attractive for our employees but also compliant with regulations, including tax rules and labor laws in different countries. Additionally, you are experienced in managing compensation packages for employees with zero-hour contracts, students, and flexible workers, ensuring they are fairly and transparently rewarded.
- Advising on C&B structures: You are a sparring partner for HR and management in shaping compensation packages. With your creative solutions, you help us attract and retain the best people without losing sight of the budget.
- Development and implementation of employment conditions: You are the one who keeps our employment conditions lively and relevant. Whether it concerns salary, pensions, or other benefits, you ensure everything is in order, from the initial calculation to the final communication to employees. You pay special attention to the dynamic needs of employees with flexible contract forms.
- Development and execution of policies: You play a key role in shaping our Compensation & Benefits policy. You translate strategic goals into concrete policies that are not only legally compliant but also truly effective for our employees.
- Salary reviews and job evaluations: With your finger on the pulse of the market, you ensure our salaries remain competitive and fair. You analyze data, compare roles, and adjust compensation policies as needed, including for employees with zero-hour contracts, students, and flexible workers, to ensure they are fairly compensated in line with market trends and legislation.
- Data analysis and policy improvement: You keep a close eye on the numbers. By recognizing trends in C&B data, you contribute to continuous improvements in our compensation policies, ensuring they always align with the needs of our employees and the company's goals.
- C&B expertise in projects: As a C&B Specialist, you work closely with departments such as HR, Finance, and Legal on projects that impact the entire organization. Your expertise helps us develop new initiatives and improve existing processes, always keeping the right compensation strategy in mind.
In this role, you will work closely with Nastassja Baak, Compensation & Benefits Specialist and Max Paping, Head of Performance Management and Reward Strategy.
Your work location will be our new office in Amsterdam Amstel starting from February 2025. Until then, you will work from our office in The Hague. Working from home is possible, but it is preferred that you work from the office at least 3 days a week

- A one-year contract with a one-month probation period, with the intention of eventually offering permanent employment.
- A gross salary between €4.040,- and €5.575,- per month on a full-time basis*.
- A bonus scheme.
- 27 vacation days for a full-time workweek, with the option to purchase 10 additional days.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home.
- A home office allowance of €2.35 per day worked from home.
- A travel allowance according to the Roompot/Landal travel expense policy at €0.23 per km. If you choose to travel by public transport, your travel costs will be fully reimbursed, as Roompot/Landal encourages its employees to use public transport.
- Extensive training and development opportunities, both online (over 150 e-learnings) and offline, focused on developing your professional skills and personal growth.
- Participation in the recreation pension fund. The standard retirement age in this scheme is 67 years. The premium for this old-age pension amounts to 21.8% of the pension base, with Roompot/Landal and you each paying half.
- The possibility of paid supplementary birth and parental leave.
- Various collective insurances, including a free continuous travel insurance for you and your family.
- A favorable employee booking arrangement.
*A full-time contract at Roompot/Landal is 38 hours per week, which is equivalent to a 5-day workweek. If you have a part-time contract, your salary and vacation days will be calculated proportionally.
Wie ben jij?
You know exactly how to ensure that our employees feel valued by creating compensation packages that are not only attractive but also fully compliant with the latest laws and regulations. It's a big plus if you have experience with international compensation and benefits programs and the associated legislation.
With your experience in multidisciplinary project teams, you are used to collaborating with different departments and enjoy contributing to projects that really make an impact. It is a pré if you have previously worked with Workday, and your excellent Excel skills make you the go-to person for all complex calculations and analyses.
You are not only analytically strong but also a true self-starter full of enthusiasm. You enjoy working independently but also know how to use your extroverted nature to communicate effectively and network within the organization.
Do you also have experience with legislation in Germany and Belgium? Then you have an advantage, as this will help you operate smoothly within a broader European context.
Last but not least: your knowledge of zero-hour contracts, student work, and flexible work is indispensable in this role. You know exactly how to develop and manage compensation programs that support these flexible work forms and reward them fairly, ensuring that everyone in our team feels valued.
You also bring:
- HBO work and thinking level with about 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent command of the English language, basic knowledge of Dutch, German is a plus.
